What is LOVE?

John 3:16-17 TPT

For here is the way God loved the world—he gave his only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life. “God did not send his Son into the world to judge and condemn the world, but to be its Savior and rescue it!

So easily we browse over this verse in the bible and can't really comprehend what it really means. The reality of this scripture flies over our heads. I wonder if for just a moment we can sit and soak in this scripture? If you are a born again christian, I hope this will refresh your spirit, but if you have never met Jesus and accepted Him as your Lord and Savior, I truly hope this will be a revelation to you and that the Holy Spirit will speak to you.

God, The Great I AM, the God who created the universe with your name on His mind when He said, "Let there be light". The God who made earth in all its glory, the whole universe, was thinking of you, as an individual, not just you, as a group or a species. He made a home (earth) away from home (heaven) for you. And then He put a song of His love in everything He made on earth. So you would be reminded of His love. All this because He is constantly pursuing a relationship with you. The Great I AM, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, wants a relationship with you!

Then sin came to paradise and robbed us blind. Oh yes, if you aren't very familiar with the Bible, I will just quickly tell you, there is an enemy, a very real one. "John 10:10 New International Version The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

He slithered his way right into paradise. But God Almighty would not be out done, so He stepped out of Heaven, put on flesh and came to dwell among us. And in the scripture this is where we meet Jesus, the Son of God. John 1:14 MSG The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, Generous inside and out, true from start to finish.

I don't know about you, but it blows my mind to even think that God the creator of Heaven and earth came down to us. I have never heard of any other god who stepped down from his thrown to be at the level of those serving him. But wait, there's more. He not only stepped out of heaven, but chose to be beaten for our sake, and then allowed those people to kill Him. Think about it, Jesus had the same authority as God the father. He had the same power as God the father. He was not helpless! He was not a prisoner! He could have snapped His fingers and every single one of those people would be dead. But He didn't. Jesus chose to be beaten by those soldiers. He chose you over himself. He chose to carry that cross while the people were shouting, cursing, spitting at Him. He chose to allow those soldiers to pin Him to a cross so He would suffocate on His own blood.

His last words, before He took His last breath was, "Father forgive them, for they don't know what they are doing." (Luke 23:34)

His first and Last thoughts were of you. He chose you over Himself. Even His last breath was not a curse, but a plea for forgiveness. Jesus was innocent! And yet He endured so much for your sake, for my sake. So why would Jesus endure so much for you? Well simple... He kicked death in the teeth (Rose from the dead after 3 days), so you and I would be able to see the inside of Heaven. You can ask for forgiveness and it would be given to you instantly. You can stand and wash dishes and have a conversation with Jesus. You no longer have to sacrifice cows, sheep and doves on an alter for forgiveness, because Jesus was the ultimate sacrificial Lamb. He took your place so that you can be free. Free to be forgiven, Free to speak to Him, Free to live and live abundantly.

This is the Ultimate Love story. One that is personal for you as an individual. He has your name carved in the palm of His hand. If you didn't know, now you know! You are Loved, You are Chosen, You are Redeemed. Will you follow Jesus?

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

If you feel like Jesus is calling you, and you have never given your life to Him, won't you send me a message and I will pray with you. If you don't feel comfortable sending me a message, then please make contact with a church near you and ask someone who knows Jesus to pray with you. But what ever you do, don't let this moment go by without committing to Jesus. You can quietly sit there where you are and also pray this prayer...

I want you Jesus

"Lord Jesus, I want you to come into my heart. I accept you as my Lord and Savior. Forgive me for my sins and wash me clean with your blood. Today I surrender to you and decide to follow you. Will you please teach me through your word and lead me by your Holy Spirit. I thank you with all my heart for what you have done for me and I accept your love. - Amen "
